I decided to try using the IPad at our Life Drawing Group. I haven’t used the IPad there since I had my first Ipad 1, when it came out. You have to change it up a bit once in a while.

I like those very much. It seems like you got the shading just right. I particularly like the top image and the clavicle with the shading just beneath. That’s good.
Thanks, I’m going to figure out the best way for me to use the iPad for life drawing, but will use tradition materials too. Have you done any doodles on a smart phone or a tablet? I don’t mean to put you on the spot, but there it is. 🙂
I have tried a few doodles on my Android phone. It’s got a pretty large screen. I find it disorienting after pencil and pen because there is no friction. I find it has a really different feel. I like what you’ve done however.
Lovely loose lines, and on an iPad too! Love it! By the way, I’ve added a link to your wonderful blog, on a post I just published today. 🙂
Thanks, I’m happy to do the same for you!
I’ve done some work on my iPad as well, and I find that using a stylus gives me a better feel than just using my finger.
I use a stylus too, in some ways I like the soft tip for touch pads better than the slippery pens. Have you found a pressure sensitive stylus that is useful?
I do have a pressure sensitive stylus that I use, but I bought it for the small tip rather than the pressure sensitive feature. I really like that it has that feature though and I am still playing around with it.
Oh interesting!!! you have peaked my interest here i wouldnt have thought of doing that. i did some cartoon fun years ago on my iphone but i act havent tried anything on my ipad.,,, sorry to ask a few questions now but what app are you using and are you using a stylis?
I’m always happy to pass info along! I used Art Set Pro and a Wacom Bamboo Stylus. For cartoons Adobe Draw is great, and Animation & Drawing by Do Ink. I like to animate in that too, it’s drawing tools are like Adobe Flash.
Ah cheers 🙂 must check it all out 🙂
So I tried it out.. I linked to your blog! Had fun… And ordered a stylus haha quick work before bed 😂😂
Awesome! I will look forward to seeing some of that if you post it!
How to draw in 5 minutes! Impressive.
Drawing and Painting under pressure has it’s merits. It forces you to work fast and not over think the process, the benefits of life drawing and plein air. Thanks for stopping by!
