My husband Dave loved to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan. For over 30 years we returned to the lake in the summer, and watched in awe of the dramatic sky and peaceful rhythm of the waves. This time would be the last. The following winter, he passed away just before the pandemic took hold. While sheltering in place, it brought me peace to paint the bold color and fleeting light of time passing, remembering Dave’s life well lived.
Hey, Tracy,
So sad to hear about your late husband’s passing. What a beautiful tribute to your sunsets together. One of your best paintings in my years following your blog. Just magnificent!! Thank you for sharing the story.
