I will be doing more sunrises now because I have a new place on the other side of Lake Michigan! The weather has been lovely, not very hot. There is nothing like the natural air conditioning of Lake Michigan!
I enjoy painting a skies, especially ones so colorful! They take me to another place!
Enjoying painting without a plan. You never know what might happen!
Acrylic on 140lb Hot Press Paper 12×16”
Intuitive Painting is painting without a plan. Letting loose and seeing what happens. I never have painted anything like this before. The name came after the result. I will explore painting like this more.
This was my first time to paint Plein Air on a house boat.
Here are my latest abstract explorations with Acrylic paint, palette knives and 6×6 and the last a 8×8 gallery wrap canvases.
Accepted to the McCullough Hyde Healing Arts Exhibit
My husband Dave loved to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan. For over 30 years we returned to the lake in the summer, and watched in awe of the dramatic sky and peaceful rhythm of the waves. This time would be the last. The following winter, he passed away just before the pandemic took hold. While sheltering in place, it brought me peace to paint the bold color and fleeting light of time passing, remembering Dave’s life well lived.
While “Sheltering in Place” I felt like venturing into a more playful state of painting! I got out my palette knives and loaded my palette, and mixed my favorite colors, and spread paint like frosting to my heart’s content!
6×6”stretched canvas, 1.5”depth
More to come!
I decided to paint a Christmas Tree for a Post Card this year.
